Is it legal for skaters to skate clockwise in the referee lane before re-entering the track after their release from the penalty box?

Answer:

It is legal. While skating clockwise on the way to the penalty box is prohibited, the rules do not specify that such skating after release from the penalty box is illegal.

Question:

What is the definition of “Relative Position”?

Answer:

Relative Position: The position a skater holds in relation to other skaters on the track.
Loss of Relative Position: When a skater’s position in relation to other skaters on the track is lost for a sustained period of time due to the actions of an opponent, such as a legal block or an illegal block.  Being forced out of bounds is always to be considered a loss of relative position.

Question:

If a jam ends with out-of-play opponents in front of the pack (see 8.5.7), does a Jammer have to be in bounds to earn their points?

Answer:

No, it does not matter if the Jammer is in bounds or out of bounds — she still earns those points per rule 8.5.7.
